This tour offers departure points in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana.  Depending on your pick-up point selection, the tour duration will be from 9 to 11 days.  The price will vary accordingly.  The “Base Tour”, or core, will begin on the day the last group of travelers join the tour, and end on the first day they begin to leave.  “Additions”, like a "Gathering" or "Post" core night, to that base tour will allow all travelers the convenience of departing from as close to home as possible.

* Travelers departing from IOWA, MINNESOTA or ILLINOIS, take advantage of a transfer to our ‘gathering overnight’ at the Hyatt Place hotel in Mishawaka, IN. All remaining travelers can either arrive on your own at the hotel for a complimentary overnight or choose to join the group on October 19 from one of our Indiana departure locations.
* For those spending the night in Mishawaka, get acquainted with fellow travelers and your tour manager; and enjoy a complimentary breakfast the following morning.

* Sit back and relax while viewing the beautiful Ohio farmlands and the rolling hills and forests of Pennsylvania.
* We will enjoy dinner together prior to a restful first night of our two-night stay at Best Western - Gettysburg, PA.

* We start our day at the Gettysburg Visitor’s Center and Cyclorama.
* On our guided tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield, we’ll learn about the significant Civil War battle that took place here.
* After we enjoy lunch together, the rest of the day is yours to explore and have dinner on your own.

* We’ll be surrounded by beautiful views as we drive through Shenandoah National Park on the Skyline Drive.
* Before we arrive to colonial Williamsburg, VA, we’ll stop at Monticello, the historic estate of Thomas Jefferson.
* After dinner together, we'll settle in for the first night of our two-night stay at the SpringHill Suites - Williamsburg, VA.

* We’ll start our day visiting Jamestown Settlement, a living museum that includes a re-creation of the original fort.
* The rest of the day is yours in Colonial Williamsburg. There will be something for all to enjoy!

October 23

* To start our day, we’ll visit the National Museum of the United States Army celebrating over 245 years of Army history and honoring soldiers past, present, and future.
* Arriving in the Washington, D.C. area, our first stop will be the Marine Corps War Memorial, dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives for our country since 1775.
* Adored memories await with our visit to Arlington National Cemetery, featuring the Changing of the Guard Ceremony.
* After dining on your own we’ll come together this evening for a walking tour to see the Jefferson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Jr., Korean, and Lincoln Memorials.
* We'll spend the next three nights at the Embassy Suites by Hilton - Old Town Alexandria, VA.

* We will start our day with a walking tour of the White House neighborhood followed by a U.S. Capitol tour.
* This afternoon, you may choose from three of the Smithsonian museums for your exploration: Air & Space, American Indian, or the Art Galleries.
* Enjoy dinner, then a show at The National Theater.

* We’ll take a daytime walking tour of the Vietnam Memorial and World War II Memorial.
* Together, we'll arrive for a self-guided tour of the Holocaust Museum, a memorial to the Holocaust victims.
* Our Smithsonian Museum exploration today will be centered on the American History Museum.
* Seeing the Declaration of Independence at the National Archives Museum is sure to be an awe-inspiring moment.
* Enjoy a free evening in Old Town while dining on your own.

* We'll tour George and Martha Washington's historic Mount Vernon home with a boxed lunch afterward.
* Our dinner together this evening will be a wonderful time to share tour highlights with each other prior to our restful overnight at the Hampton Inn - Somerset, PA.

* Today, we head home, stopping at the Flight 93 Memorial to honor 9/11 heroes.
* Travelers departing the tour in INDIANA and ILLINOIS, welcome back to your departure locations.
* Travelers continuing on to Iowa and Minnesota, enjoy a relaxing overnight at DoubleTree by Hilton - Alsip, IL.
