This tour offers departure points in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana.  Depending on your pick-up point selection, the tour duration will be from 6 to 8 days.  The price will vary accordingly.  The “Base Tour”, or core, will begin on the day the last group of travelers join the tour, and end on the first day they begin to leave.  “Additions”, like a "Gathering" or "Post" core night, to that base tour will allow all travelers the convenience of departing from as close to home as possible.

September 12

* Travelers departing from IOWA, MINNESOTA, or ILLINOIS, take advantage of a transfer to our 'gathering overnight' hotel at the Hyatt Place South Bend - Mishawaka, IN, or similar. Remaining travelers can arrive at the hotel on their own for a complimentary night or join the group on September 13 from one of our designated Indiana departure locations.
* For those staying in Mishawaka, meet your fellow travelers and tour manager, then enjoy breakfast the next morning.

*Enjoy the views as we make our way to Somerset, PA - sometimes referred to as the "Land of Milk and Maple."
* Before turning in for the night at the Hampton Inn - Somerset, PA, or similar, we’ll enjoy dinner together.

* Today is a travel day as we make our way to Philadelphia, PA, and the first of our three-night stay at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District - Philadelphia, PA, or similar.
* In Philadelphia, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the Reading Terminal Market and lunch with the provided voucher.
* Our guided tour of Philadelphia will showcase city highlights, including the Chinatown Friendship Arch, LOVE Park, City Hall, and the Rocky steps & statue.
* Before turning in, we’ll enjoy dinner together.

* We start our day with a "Founding Footsteps - Old City Historic Walking Tour" featuring the Betsy Ross House, Elfreth’s Alley, Christ Church, B. Free Franklin Post Office, Carpenters’ Hall, Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall.
* Following lunch, we’ll take a guided tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary - the world’s first true "penitentiary."
* The rest of the day is yours to continue your exploration of Philadelphia and enjoy dining on your own.

* After breakfast, we’ll take a guided tour at the Museum of the American Revolution, including a viewing of the Washington’s War Tent film.
* At the National Constitution Center, we’ll take a guided tour and learn about the signing of the Constitution.
* Before turning in, we’ll enjoy dinner together.

* The Valley Forge National Park’s Encampment will provide us with a unique look at the winter hardships faced by the Revolutionary War’s Continental Army.
* After lunch on your own, we’ll depart for Pittsburgh.
* We’ll enjoy dinner together before turning in at the Drury Inn - Pittsburgh, PA, or similar.
