This tour offers departure points in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana. Depending on your pick-up point selection, the tour duration will be from 4 to 6 days. The price will vary accordingly. The “Base Tour”, or core, will begin on the day the last group of travelers join the tour, and end on the first day they begin to leave. “Additions”, like a "Gathering" or "Post" core night, to that base tour will allow all travelers the convenience of departing from as close to home as possible.

Good mobility is needed. There will be prolonged standing, stairs and walking longer distances over uneven ground.
June 1
* Travelers departing from IOWA or MINNESOTA, take advantage of a transfer to our ‘gathering overnight’ hotel, the DoubleTree Hotel - Alsip, IL, or similar. All remaining travelers can either arrive on your own at the hotel for a complimentary overnight or choose to wait and join the group on June 2 from one of our identified ILLINOIS or INDIANA pick-up locations.
* For those spending the night in the Chicagoland area, get acquainted with your tour manager and enjoy a complimentary breakfast the following morning.
June 2
* Relax and enjoy scenic landscapes as we travel through Michigan to Bay City, a relaxed waterfront town located near the base of Lake Huron’s Saginaw Bay.
* Upon arrival in Bay City, enjoy a guided city tour.
* Before a restful overnight at the DoubleTree - Bay City, MI, or similar, we will enjoy dinner together.
June 3
* Noted as an "oasis of architecture & inspiration," we’ll visit the Alden B. Dow Home & Studio, a National Historic Landmark. Our visit will include a tour of a Mid-Twentieth Century Modern Home that balances and blends innovative building practices with natural landscape.
* We’ll cross the Straits of Mackinac aboard Shepler’s Ferry to Mackinac Island, known as the "Bermuda of the North."
* Join your fellow travelers for dinner before turning in at the Lake View Hotel for the first of our two-night stay.
June 4
* This morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at one of the many Island cafes. (Breakfast cash provided.)
* Mackinac Island history comes alive as we enjoy a guidenarrated horse-drawn carriage ride.
* Savor lunch at the Grand Hotel, a National Historic Landmark with the world’s largest front porch!
* Enjoy free time to explore the Island, visit fudge shops, and have dinner on your own.
June 5
* Enjoy breakfast at one of the Island’s many cafes. (Breakfast cash provided.)
* As we begin our journey home, we’ll board Shepler's Ferry for our return trip to Mackinaw City.
* As we travel to our departure destinations, enjoy the views while sharing your trip highlights with fellow travelers.
* Travelers departing the tour in INDIANA and ILLINOIS, welcome back to your departure locations.
* Travelers continuing to Iowa and Minnesota, enjoy an overnight at the DoubleTree by Hilton - Alsip, IL, or similar.
