* Your adventure begins! Relax on your overnight flight to Marseilles, France from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.
* A Legacy Tour & Travel host will be with you throughout the tour to assist you through the airports and work on your behalf with the Viking host.

August 20 - Avignon

* After arriving in Marseille, France, you’ll have free time to relax or explore the city on your own.
* Continuing on to Avignon, France, you'll have additional free time before settling in for the evening.

August 21 - Avignon

* Enjoy this morning’s free time to explore at your leisure.
* Known as the "City of Popes," Avignon became the center of the Christian world in the 14th century.
* This afternoon, we'll board our Viking Rhône River Cruise.
* Viking Cruise: While on the cruise, one complimentary shore excursion is available for you at each port of call.

August 22 - Arles

* Once the capital of Roman Gaul, Arles is rich with ancient ruins like the 20,000-seat amphitheater, Les Arènes, and brims with Provençal energy, from its vibrant markets to its van Gogh legacy.

August 23 - Avignon

* Narrow streets and grand Gothic buildings reflect Avignon’s era as a papal stronghold, with the towering Palais des Papes dominating the skyline since the pope’s 14th-century move from Rome.

August 24 - Viviers

* Founded in the 5th century as a bishop’s seat, Viviers keeps its cobbled lanes behind medieval walls, highlighted by the Renaissance Maison des Chevaliers and the 12thcentury St. Vincent Cathedral.

August 25 - Tournon

* Framed by vineyard-covered slopes, Tournon is crowned by an ancient castle built into the rock, with roots tracing back to a Celtic hilltop settlement.

August 26 - Lyon

* Lyon, situated where the Rhône and Saône Rivers meet, is France’s third-largest city, known for its culinary scene. Meals here are often enjoyed with a glass of light, fruity Beaujolais or bold Rhône reds.

August 27 - Lyon

* Rich in Renaissance architecture and lined with unique traboules, Old Lyon is overlooked by the grand basilica on Fourvière Hill and filled with museums, cultural gems, and renowned eateries.

August 28 - Paris

* After disembarking our ship in Lyon, we’ll transfer to the Gare de Lyon-Perrache railway station. There, we will board SNCF’s TGV high-speed train for a scenic two-hour journey through the French countryside to Paris.
* Upon arrival in Paris, we’ll transfer to our hotel, where you can settle in then spend rest of the day exploring the city at your leisure. A Viking Tour Host is available to help you plan your time so you can make the most of your visit.

August 29 - Paris

* We’ll enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Paris, traveling along the famed Champs-Élysées to view the iconic Eiffel Tower and many other classic landmarks.

August 30 - Paris

* You have a full day to explore the romantic "City of Light." You may choose strolling through Montmartre, shopping along the Champs-Élysées, viewing Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower, or sampling some famous French cuisine.

August 31 - Paris

* After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to the beautiful city of Paris and begin our journey home.
* Arriving at Chicago O'Hare Airport, you will be greeted by your transfer driver for the return trip to your chosen departure location.
* You return home with wonderful memories and unique personal photos to share with family and friends.
